Nice car! Congrats! First thing to do would to be search the archives for some of those questions. Plus there is other stuff in there you'll probably find interesting.

1. The Rim problem is common. I had to get my replaced through BMW for free. The longer you wait, the worse they get. Complain to your dealership until they fix it.

2. Multiple fixes for this. My dealership installed a backflow plug that cured the problem. There are tons of other creative people here who have done there own versions of this fix. Common problem too.

3. CD would be your choice - I would go with the Nakamichi glove box CD Changer. I think it's around $500???

4. Dinan stuff - some people here love Dinan, others think it's overprice junk. I'm inpartial because I've never had any personal experience with their products. The car doesn't really NEED anything else (some springs and shocks may be debatable) but if you're just driving this car for fun - you shouldn't worry about doing too many mods right now. Everyone here is going to tell you to learn how to drive the car first....take lessons...go to Auto-x....go to driving schools etcc... The most common mods are exhaust (Tri-flo, supersprint, Dinan, etc), intake (ECIS, Dinan, etc.) and new better tired. I'm sure your car came with the Dunlop 8080's...some people say those suck and change them.

Here are some sites to go to...

I'm sure they're way more but that's all I can think of.

Enjoy!!!

Congratulations!!!!!
Regarding the rear wiper if you pull away the wiper from the glass look for the black tube, towards the base of the wiper arm I used a very small tie wrap black pull as tight as you can this should help I find only at very high speeds do I get a little leak now and then
good luck hope this helps
Hi All,

Just purchased a 99 M Coupe. Was originally looking at E36 M3, but dealer mis-marked this M Coupe by almost 10K! Snatched it up quick! Never thought I could afford this street legal racecar. Love the car, but have a few questions for those in the forum...

1. The polished rims are showing some flaking. Anyone experienced this? It is currently very minor, but I am a perfectionist and wanted to know if it could be covered by warranty or if there is a process to fix it?

2. The rear windshield wiper leaks fluid at high speeds (80MPH+). Has anyone experienced this?

3. I am looking to upgrade the stock tape deck with a CD player. I am a big fan of the Kenwood self-masking decks. Anyone have this installed or recommend another brand. I could always go with BMW CD...
4. DINAN recommendations for this car? Cold Air intake?

I ABSOLUTLELY LOVE THE CAR! MY friend has a TT, and was one of the first to get it. I used to borrow it from time to time and it got tons of looks, but now they are common in SF Bay Area. M Coupe has been around for a while but is so rare; it still turns heads everywhere I go.

Cosmos Black with Black interior.... would have loved Estoril blue, but Black is great second. Third black car but Cosmos Black is much easier to take care of then gloss black. Also nice to be faster than the thousands of M3’s on the road!
