There has been a lot of discussion about this car, and it has been decided to put it in the slower class. I agree with this, as I have only seen one fast one, out or 9 or so. And it wasn't that fast. Great car, but not a great autocrosser.

The scarey part of this proposal is the Boxster S in the class with the M Roadster/Coupe. This car is one of the fastest cars made, today, period. Rob Falkner just came in third in a Boxster S at the nationals (SS), with a fully stock car and only race tires. Scarey.

Note that noone is sure yet whether these changes will be in effect next year. A bit more likely that it will be 2002, unfortunately.


Leaving the S2000 in the class with the 2.8 is different from every other thing I've read about the new class structure proposal. I might remember wrong but I don't think the SCCA meant to leave it with us, but move into the class with the M's.
