Clutch throwout bearing? That would cause noise, especially with the clutch pedal out and the clutch plate NOT engaged. Just a thought...

It sounds exactly like a transmission problem could be as simple as a shifter fork adjustment or maybe a loose pin. I would not drive the car till the dealer looks at it.
