I also live in Boston.I own a99 Z3 coupe and after driving it once in a few inches of snow I bought a Jeep Wrangler as a winter car and the Z3 sits in the garage. In addition to having the wrong tires which you would have to replace with 4 snow tires and probably 4 steel rims and wheel covers, there is the issue of ground clearance which is much ntoo small to be comfortable in the snow. The car was never designed as a snow car and it would be a dangerous mistake to think it can perform adequetely.I resent the idea of having to own 2 cars to be able to drive the Z3 and had I realized this before the fact probably would not have bought it. If you do go forward highly recomend Foreign Motors West in Natick as an excellant BMW dealer.
