hi, all --
i live in the boston area (orig from SF bay area where it doesn't usually snow) and i've found myself enamoured with the 2001 z3 3.0 coupe (in yellow). my concern is how it would handle the snow because i live where slow plows don't frequent much & i really am a crummy snow driver. (i drive a '90 acura which loves the snow when it's wearing blizzak tires & no matter how wreckless i am, that car seems to take care of me.)

the BMW dealer today told me that the z3 coupe is a second car, not a primary commuter car, which for me it would be. if i put good tires on it & drove carefully, would i be OK in the snow? i've read this car doesn't like foul weather. true?

i'd appreciate input from all climates. :)

thanks,
el
WE had our 1st snow last nite. I got up this morning and put B.F. Goodrich Winter Slalom tires w/studs, size 205/55R 16 on 7Jx16 rims on all four corners. The snow was the heavy wet type which packs to ice quickly. I took the '01 Z3 Coupe, which I picked up last week, out to an empty parking lot. It handled great, very predictable, and with proper caution I don't forsee any problems. It is a fantistic car. Good luck!
