So it won't have the wheels, the 3.0i wheels are pretty cool. I'd take the Z3 Coupe 3.0i. You can modify the suspension to hang with M's easily.

I'd have to second that heheheheh! The money you SAVE on buying th 3.0 would allow you to even get the trick double adjustable KONI shocks! And if you think about AutoX'ing the car, the Z3 is in a better class to run in, even WITH the new class proposals.
