the other day, i had to take off hte stock airbox while i was waiting on some parts to come in and for my slot in the shop.

running the engine without an airbox, with just the euro AFM sitting there, naked, with dinan stage 1 software, did not trigger "check engine" lights.

now, i don't know how much more aggressive than stock dinan stage software is, but i tend to think it's pretty innocuous. but, in any case, the ECU is a lot smarter than we all give it credit for. for instance, on non-M equipped SC'd cars, dinan, i'm led to believe, uses stock BMW programs. so, in this scenario, the computer is able to enrichen the fuel mixture automatically to compensate.
