In Reply to: How many of you bought a 3.0 over a M? and why? posted by JK on November 05, 2000 at 11:05:28:

I disagree, most 3rd-party lending rates (credit union, etc.) are stepped, with the newest bracket being '99-present. Most M Coupes fall into that category.

Insurance companies hardly have any stats on these rare cars and lump them all together, at least State Farm seems to do that.

Many used M coupes have VERY low mileage and extended warranties, so while they may have 3-10K miles on them, you can get them certified with an extra 2 years of warranty. Used, but most likely pampered.

I just bought a '99 Estoril Blue M Coupe for $34K from a dealer, with pre-certified warranty. Let me know if you can touch that price with a new '01. Don't forget to add Extended leather, power seats, Harmon-Kardon, cruise control, .....

The reason? Rumors on the new ///M have affected the used car market a lot!
