Boy you all missed the San Diego GP!!! M Coupe!!!! (archive)

Yes, there now is an M COUPE in the Speedvision GT series!!! It is run by Osh of RMS (Race Marque Systems), and Mark Huges from TSR (Z3 Coupe from the Motorola Cup) was there too helping out! They elected instead of going with the N/A M3 motor like in PD Cunningham's car, to go with an SC system giving them something like 400+HP. Oh is this car BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!

Now in the race, which by the way was ONLY their SECOND event ever, they had to start in last place on the grid (out of 40 cars) because they blew an engine. But it wasn't very long before they were PASSING VETTES and STANGS!!!! That is right boyz and girlz! They were KICKING ASS and taking positions! Sadly, as Osh told me, they still had the stock OEM brakes on the car, and by about the 10th lap, they were MUSH! But in the end, they got 14th out of 40 cars! Not too bad for no real R&D time on the track! And I was assured that this car is here to stay in the SV series!!! And that there is still a lot more to do to this car, so I would have to say that we will be seeing a lot more of it, and perhaps in the winners circle!!!!!

Also, the BMW dealers now have an M3 PTG Racing Team offical hat for sale! Very nice looking, and has all the PTG driver's autographs on it. Funny too, . . . when I was talking to PD and Mike Galati walked over, I showed them the hat. We all got a laugh out of it as I told them that GEE PD, never in a million years would I have ever thought I'd be wearing a hat with YOUR name on it! Sadly though, during the race PD was taken out by a back marker he had just passed, and did not finish. That not only screwd up his points standing, but he was really messed up over it cause he felt soooooo bad for his pit crew and all the work they had done. What a guy! Not many would have felt that way these days.
