Feel of the shifter (archive)

For the first 9k or so miles on the coupe, the shifter felt very smooth in and out of all gears. Just recently I have noticed, that going into 2nd gear from first feels imprecise and awkward. Also, going into first from a standstill also feels rough every so often. Sometimes, everything feels smooth, but other times, not. I don't know what to make of this problem except that maybe it has to do with the wearing of the clutch. Any insights? Should I have this checked out, or go some time and see how things go?
