Unless one takes the engine apart and inspects it, it's a guess as to what condition it's in. It depends how tight the original parts fit was on it; some are tighter than others.

The probability of having excessive micro-metal particles rubbed off exists, so I think an engine oil/filter change is needed. This will carry most of them out of the engine. Another change at 1000 miles won't hurt, either.

Drive smart; gentle too, for the first 1000 miles.
