speeding on the highway is silly beyond a certain speed. detectors are worthless on the highway. your reaction time just gives police instant on-equiped cars a chance to see your brake lights as you blow by them as they rev up their engines.

residential areas, they're worth it since most resi-cops use continuous radar or stronger bursts of energy, so you'll pick that up if you're lucky.

otherwise, those sorts of speeds mentioned are not what i call reckless. i call those speeds sucker speeds because you'll get caught if you're in the habit of driving like that. especially in sports cars. maybe if you got something like a honda insight, they'd be so amused and incredulous, they wouldn't pull you guys over.
