Just my impression of the situation.
I think 39 lbs works good in my RE730's. So if you've just driven to the track, pump to 36, they'll get to 39 or 40 on the track under load. Check them after your first session.
Thanks for replying and for the tips. I won't be running on the RE730s but on the Yokos A032R. Should the pressure be different? Front/Rear?

Running R compounds the very first time you're on the track is probably the first ingredient to a recipe for disaster. The Yokos will give you higher grip so you will be able to corner faster, that also means when they break away you will be at a much higher speed. Being an autoxer probably doesn't help the situation either, you're used to jerking the car around the course with very abrupt inputs with the brake, throttle, and steering wheel. Autoxing is slow enough that this does not upset the car too much and if the back end comes around you have time to catch it. Try this at 80-90 or 100mph and it is exponentially more difficult, also if you *do* catch the back end, you also need to recover in the other direction once it catches. With the R compounds it is a lot more difficult. For track events you have to be smooth with every input.
You've hopefully seen the video of the Subaru Impreza guy rolling at Lime Rock I hope. It was his 2nd event, he ran on R compounds and he was also an autoxer.
Try to not to become one of these accidents that happen before the school.
Anyhoo, not trying to spook you, just be aware that this sort of thing happens all the time. Have a good time at the school and be smooth!! :-)
