But then it's never happened to me. . .

As I recall BMW had a problem with one supplier. The end link thingy was manufactured the wrong size. This got into a decent number of cars, and causes the rear bar to pop out of the hole. If this happened to you, you obviously have this problem. Take the car to the dealer and have them replace the end link (for free) while reattaching it.

More on this in the archives. But then the archive search function can't find many of the posts currently. New search engine coming, I hear.

You're kidding!
I drive the damn thing on a commute and up and down the freeway© How can it just pop out© It's not like I autocross it or anything© Maybe I do drive it a little harder than I thought :¤
Shite©
So, what's a swaybar look like then?
I might have a degree in aerospace engineering but that doesn't mean we ever took cars apart©©©
thanks
Clausy

It happened to me about a month ago - a moderate "bang" from the right rear, then the squeak© You can fix it yourself ¥take off the right rear wheel, look at the sway bar end, and it'll be obvious what's wrong¤ or let your dealer do it© They're VERY familiar with the problem - it's just another example of the ultimate driving machine in action©©©©©©©©©©©©©©

Fix it now - don't wait©
