I waited for a while. I decided to take a look at the dealer inventory. I saw some “unique” BMW’s, i.e. a Z8, an 850ci mixed in the more common units. Off to the side were some Certified Preowned M cars, coupes and roadsters. There was one silver M roadster that looked a little rough around the edges and it some how looked different in outward appearance. It had what I believe were Swiss tags on it. I had already dismissed the car as having been a US model probably shipped to Europe with someone who had relocated there and they were now on the return trip back to the states.
Not so brothers and sisters! Really close inspection at the gauge cluster and center console delighted me! There were no US markings on the speedometer all markings were in kilometers per hour. In place of my missing voltmeter was an exterior temperature gauge in degrees Celsius! The bumper covers and license plate areas were different. They accommodated Euro plates. Now this brings a question that I would like to pose to you collectively. Do you suppose this unit has the European drivetrain? It's quite a sleeper if one doesn't look carefully! I am so curious as to what was under the hood!
In retrospect, I should have taken the VIN and looked it up. What are your thoughts? How often, if ever have you seen the Euro version in the states?
