Vehicle "squat" on a launch does throw it off, but it does not appear to be a significant amount. I've had a G-Tech PRO for a couple years and have used it in my other cars that I drag race ... mainly to see how accurate it was. It is really close, but only coincidentally will it be "spot on". It is ususally within a tenth or so for ET thru the quarter mile. The mph is always higher than the time slip, though. To further expand on another's explanation of how it calculates speed, the G-Tech PRO gives you the exact speed at the point you cross the finish line in the quarter mile. The timers at the strip take an "average speed" using 2 timers, placed a known distance apart (60 feet I think?) at the finish line, the reason its mph value is lower. BTW ... I had a 0-60 in my stock Coupe of 5.17, so that's damn near what most road tests say, if not "spot on".

As "dp" says ... its very useful for measuring mods done to your car. FYI
