the 3.0 has seperate exhaust headers and exhaust pipes running back to the muffler where they both run into the same muffler and come out dual pipes. Sounds kinda strange but I crawled under my car and looked.

I like the look of the dual exhaust system on the M Coupe and would like to add a dual exhaust system onto my 3.0i. I know that this can be done with modification to the rear bumper or adding an M bumper to my car. However I am questioning whether or not this is an effective Performance modification. Can anyone comment on this. The other option would be to get a more conventional aftermarket single exhaust. Thanks!!

The ///M is a true dual system. From the headers back. The header on the M is two pieces each piece exhausts the gases from three chambers. Where on the 3.0 it's a one piece. the entire system would have to be replaced.
