I've a Z3 coupe, not an M coupe. All four wheels and tires are the same size. I know the tires would be 'directional' if rotated every 7500 or more miles, but I rotate them every 3000 miles.

Ahh. I wasnt aware the wheels on the Z were all the same size. My mistake.

As far as tires being directional, many brands (like the Pilots on my M Coupe) are marked as to which direction they are supposed to rotate. If you have tires like this (which I assume from your response that they arent) then it makes your only option for rotation to be front to rear and not diagonal.

The reason for the directionality as I understand it is that the tread is made to pump water outwards when rotating the correct way. If you put it on backwards it would suck water inwards instead which wouldnt be good for traction...
