I've had my 2000 M Coupe for a year now and have had NO problems with it. Not one. No excessive oil consumption, no squeaks or rattles, no leaky windshield washer squirter thingy, no broken rear hatch, nada.
A few problems are to be expected in any car, no matter what the marque is. So the M Coupe has a few problems-bfd.
People are fixating on a few minor problems and they keep coming up. Granted, BMW should do something about the trunk lid mechanism, etc., but come on people! Do you really expect your car to be perfect?
I can't recommend the M Coupe enough, and I'm sure it will be an even bigger hoot with the new mill. Go out and drive one at the first opportunity and I can guarantee you won't look back.
