I've taken some good polishing compound and buffed them up with an orbital polisher and they came out beautifuly. All the fine scratches were removed and the minor dings minimized. I could see no detrimental effects, just nice, clean and clear headlight covers.

...has anybody ever put a fine, non-embedding compound on a slow speed electric buffer, then polished them out? Then put on a good clear wax to fill in the deep pits?

Mine are still pretty good, but in a couple of years, they may not be. Guess I should have put on some soft plastic film when the car was new. I'm just trying to avoid buying a new set of headlight assemblies.

Thanks, Ron, for your information.

Drive clear.
