The Z06 did indeed beat the Porsche Turbo on the racetrack. Not only that, but I am comparing the Z06 to the present 240 hp M coupe. This is not a matter of a tenth of a second here, and a g there. The Z06 performance-wise takes the coupe in every single category. As for the 315hp coupe, obviously it will be closer. I love the coupe just like you do. I enjoy its unique styling along with the comments that I get when I'm driving it.

The decision to jump ship to the Z06 therefore is weighing the Coupe's unique styling and performance, to the Z06's less appealing styling but significantly higher performance. As of now, I am quite satisfied with the performance of my M coupe, so I'm sticking with it. I could see replacing it with a Z06 in a year or so, rather than a 2001/2 315 hp M coupe, just for a change, and then (as i said earlier) purchase a redesigned, better-engineered 2nd generation M coupe.
