When I gave my car full throttle, the level on the throttle body was not being pulled open all the way. You need two people to help you see this, and my brother happened to be in town. (With one person pressing the accelerator, car TURNED OFF) You could reach down with you hand and open the lever about another 1/4 of an inch (measuring where the cable is attached).

To fix this, you can first take all of the slack out of your control wire by twisting the mounting plastic near the throttle. If you still don't get the full-open position, you may have to dial-in the Stop screw under your accelerator pedal. I'm no expert, so be careful not to adjust this to the other extreme (too tight). You may damage the lever.

This control wire was either poorly installed or stretched in the past 2 years. The cruise control wire has even more slack. The adjustment screw on this wire is completely backed out, almost falling out of its mount.

Does anybody know if a loose cruise-control control wire is the cause to my slow acceleration when using the Cruise-control lever? Or did they just make it "gentle" on purpose?
