I never had the gas gauge problem that others have had until my wife put non-Chevron gas in my car. Then after a couple of fillups with Chevron the gas gauge doesn't freak out anymore. I'll only use non-Chevron when I'm on a road trip and I have no choice. If the car is going to sit more than one day I make sure it's Chevron in the tank. Fillup with non-Chevron and let the car sit with it in the tank next fillup the gauge doesn't work right. This has happened twice.
