The 15% figure I used was supplied by the guy running the dyno and was not specific to any particular model, just for manual transmissions in general.
Checking the archives, the thing that stands out was the torque reading, which was 3-4 ft/lbs higher than the others I found. The HP was about the same or even a hair low. However, some of those reports were made on very hot days, when I would figure the results would be a bit lower than mine.
Does anyone know the source of the famous "-1/+10%" range for the M engines?
If the 17.5% loss is correct, then this engine tested out on that day right at the top of the range that has been reported here (263.5 vs 240 + 24). All I know is that it pulls nice and strong when my right foot says go.
