The "speedshine buff" is perhaps the single best trick I've learned in all my years (30+) of detailing cars. It works with various carnauba waxes (I haven't tried Griots paste. Maybe I will. Does it turn black plastic white? That drives me nuts.), and the best benefit is no, none, nada polishing swirls on dark finishes, even in the brightest California sun.

As an aside, I happended upon the speedshine buff trick by accident. Several years ago I had an urgent situation sidetrack me midway during a wax job (with Malms). Two days later when I tried to buff the wax off, well, there was no way. Out of fustration, and on a lark, I sprayed the dried wax with Speedshine (it had a different name back then) and not only did the wax polish off easily, but the result was better than I had ever seem. Sometimes good does come from adversity.

In my opinion Griot's carnauba wax is far superior to their "Best of Show" liquid wax. I've used the "Speedshine buff" technique with it and the results are stunning.

Mike
