Living in the Pacific Northwest and being my daily driver ... here are my reasons:
* More practical, being a hatchback
* More unique looking, meaning more of a head turner ... I wanted something different!
* Much better body integrity; ie, the Coupe is the stiffest chassis production car ever built by BMW.
* Quieter "at speed" than the Roadster (some may find this a disadvantage ... not me!).
* Much better sounding accoustics with the stock radio.
* Living in the NW all my life, have never been a convertible guy.

My wife and I drove our Coupe on a 2700 mile round trip from Seattle to Palm Desert, CA, a year ago. Had plenty of luggage space for the two of us and put approx. 600 miles per day very comfortably. Got over 24 miles per gallon traveling 80+ most of the time.

Just a very pleasant car, for traveling or commuting. Have never regretted my decision.
FYI
