Don't do the convertible sub... you can fit an 8" sub in the factory sub location using the factory box.

My suggestion would be to do this and to replace the fronts with 6 1/2" components. Then if you want replace the rears with some decent 5 1/4" coaxials (infinities are nice).

Then pop in an amp or two (depends on what you get) to power everything.

Replacing the stock speakers without doing amps is not going to yield much benefit. If you do everything at once you will end up saving money over doing speakers first, realizing that you just need more power, and then having to install the amps later.
