There are 3 tabs around the outside edge of the 9005 bulb...basically you need to make the top tab look like the one on the 9006 bulb to make it fit. And this entails cutting about half of the plastic tab off. If you hold both bulbs next to eachother its fairly easy to see what needs to be done.

Also a slight modification needs to be done to the connector that you plug into the bulb. This too can be easily seen just by observing the 9005 bulb.

I should have taken pictures of it. Maybe I'll try and pull one of the modified ones out and snap a few photos.
