For around town, I put the highbeam center a bit below the horizontal. As bright as the Z3 highbeams are, when they're horizontal, too many oncomming drivers high-beam me. With the highbeam center a bit low, there's plenty of light for town nighttime use. For long trips, I readjust the highbeam centers to horizontal for use in the country on interstates. There's about 1/3rd of a turn on the vertical adjustment 6mm socket between my city and country settings.

Now if there was a way to put a small motor behind the headlights to move them from a dashboard control.....
