I have a brand new 2001 3'er (E46) Coupe and I were recently invited by my dealer to a track event.
The event included a session where I was encouraged by the instructor to skid the car 180 deg. on a snowy (slippery) part of the track (by pulling the handbrake a moderate speed). This manoeuvre made me a bit nervous as I afraid that the sideways force on the wheels might damage the hubs/bearings.
Do I need to worry? - is there any change of wear and tear other than to the tires? (only did this a couple of times).
Thanks
