a 70's vw bug. only thing weird about it was the driver seemed to be in the back seat, and tires were a bit big (but not overdone). upon getting closer, i realized it didn't sound like a bug either. more like a big-block v8... which it turned out to be. the nose and front seat area were full of highly modified american v8. it had cross-drilled discs at four corners, and what appeared to be a custom independent wishbone suspension front and rear. upon looking really close, it turned out to be a custom tube-framed front engine, rear drive racecar (a cobra kit?) which someone stuck a stock vw body on. talk about a 'sleeper'... bet your brothers superformance would surprise a few people if he were to put a bug body on it ;)
