Oh, and BTW, we autocross rain or shine. In fact, it is probably more fun in the rain, plus you get more runs.

I tell folks with powerful cars that a good driver in a dodge neon will probably be faster than them at first. But after you've done it a few times, your skill level jumps way up. A bit embarassing to start, but the results come fast.

Don't come just to watch! You won't learn anything, and it is FAR more fun to drive. Folks are quite nice at autocrosses. Just grab someone and tell them that you're new, and ask what you need to do next.
