They are lowered so you don't have our very low cars up so high to get them under the jack points. Also they come with delrin adapters that fit perfectly into the jacking points on the Z3 family of cars. The adapters pivot to some extent so that when you only have two wheels up in the air, as I did, they accomodate the angle nicely.
