And as the article said - wasn't it ABOUT TIME to make a Coupe into a real GT race car! I mean geez, its been said for a long time now, that is is a highly tight frame, and its a lot lighter than the M3's - so WHY haven't anyone did anything with one before this is beyond me. Sure, there was the SV car with Derek Bell in it (till it crashed at Laguna), but that wasn't anywhere near a serious project. And the Motorola Cup Z3's of Mark Hughe's were great cars, but MC cars are near street cars more than race cars. And the last 2 SV races of 2000, one being in San Diego where I got to see the car up close and personal, did have an M Coupe - but again it wasn't no where near like this car! And to top it off, it was SC'd.
The race just before SD (forgot where) it didn't do too badly, but at SD it was amazing. It was passing a lot of cars, having had to start out last because of some mechanical problems, and got up to near the top 10 when the brakes (STOCK ones too!!!???) began to fade. He ended up in 14th I think, but out of nearly 40 cars - and that comming up from last! But I haven't seen the car again, yet. So Jeff's car is our biggest hope here in the USA - not counting the Coupes in Germany at the last Nurburgring.
GO JEFF and BRADY, GO!!!!!!! But gee, you should have tried this with a Z3 Coupe, . . . . . Ha ha ha ha ha! JUST JOKING GUYS!!!! :)
By the way, that cover will make an AWESOME wallpaper once I get it scanned! Too bad the great side shot is a 2 pager - that damn crease!!!!!!! And boy wold I LOVE to see a rear shot too!!!!!!! :)
