Also, it was claimed that the 2001 m-coupe was going to have a lower final drive ratio and the same gear ratios (http://www.bimmer.org/z3coupe/messages/messages/37631.html). If that's the case, then the new m-coupe is going to be able to take advantage of that torque even less, but we're going to get to hold gears longer.
