I traded in my 2000 S2000 for a certified pre-owned '99 M Coupe. I'd rather fix the annoying little things that seem to affect BMWs (like interior lights, rear hatch latches, etc) than go throught the hassle of getting my transmission rebuilt again or completely replaced again. As long as I have faith in the engine and transmission, I'll be fine.
