Well I just got back from Virginia International Raceway. It was a blast. Myself and a Silver M Coupe drove down to participate in the 30 minutes of BMW "only" parade laps around the course. We then stayed for the 2 feature BMW races, along with a few other vintage races.

The winners,

I super slick yellow 2002, a Shelby Cobra that had a sound that reminded me of an airplane on a taxi-way, and a M3 that actually lapped the 2nd place guy. I've got some pictures on the way and I'll post them as soon as I get them developed and scanned.

Out of the 70 odd people that showed up from the Tarheel and Blue Ridge chapters of the BMWCCA, I only counted 3 coupes (2 from our group). I was amazed that there were not more. A blue and silver coupe with NC tags showed up. Whoever had the blue had a roll bar and supersprint installed.

All I know is that this is my first track event, and just those short 30 min have planted a bug. I don't have any extra money to be messing with track racing, but I'll sure go again just to watch!

Pictures on the way!
