Okay, okay clearly Zach has the biggest frickin' speaker box I have ever seen in a Coupe. I am actually trying to see how he got it in and still managed to hook the sucker up. I am also a little envious that when he opens the hatch he can knock crowds and buildings down when he uses the bass-test disc. :)

But is it possible, using the existing enclosures, to make a significant improvement upon the stock HK system? One of the reasons I chose the Coupe was that it could carry a weekend's worth of luggage through the twisties up and down the California coast and being as bold as Zack would eliminate either the trips or the passenger.

Reception the BMW "Business" head unit is pathetic, mid-range is barely audible and distortion (from under amplification?) is pretty easy to produce. Before I spend $500 on a CD changer from BMW I'd like to know what non-body modifying improvements I can make with some well chosen speakers, amps and head unit.

Cheers,
Steve
