From what I can figure, if the stageII AA turbo does a 12.2 in a M3 his kit which makes a considerable more ammount of HP and TQ in a lighter car it has got to be good for at least low 11's at the worst if you had no traction which is not the case with this car it straight hooks up. He said he raced an Yamaha R6 Bike and beat that, I figure if it beat that bike he has got to be pulling somewhere in the low mid 10's to low 11's probably faster but I am just speculating. If any of you get a chance to get to AA in Maimi I strongly suggest to see if they can get him over there to give you a ride, you will not be dissapointed.
The car should be in European Car soon, they shot it at the same time the did the 2 M3's that are on the cover now.
Thier kit that does not come with the tranny work, or the new head gasget to lower the compression and the conversion to OBDI (this kit is $31,000) so you can run more boost is $14,000 installed. The kit puts the car up to over 400 HP and I cant remember the TQ number so don't quote me but I think its over 385. These numbers are at the crank. The kit on the car should be good for mid to 11's to low 12's, depending on how well it does withthe stock tranny. The kit comes with the turbo, front mount intercooler, cold air intake, boost controller, turbo timer, and boost gauge. You need to run a cat back exhaust and they strongly suggest you upgrade the brakes and suspension. I have pics of the kit and car I can post if anyone wants to see them.
The price is actually really resonable considering that the dinan blower is about $9,000-10,000 indstalled and only make 350 HP and a considerable amout less TQ than the AA kit. The guys there told me that they have never lost a turbo or a engine in 20 yrs with thier kits.
By the end of this year if not early next year at the latest I should have this kit on. I am for sure that with that kit I should have no problem blowing the doors off of a 2001 Mroadster or Mcoupe.
So if you are considering a 2001 keep this as an option, pick up a used 98 for around 32,000 add 14,000 for the turbo and for a few pennies over the the 2001 you have a real beast of a car that runs with the supercars.
