Secondly - I never said I was a "music perfectionist" which is similar to an audiophile I suppose. I just enjoy good sounding music! That's all.
It's balance. If I wanted a vehicle strictly for music...I would buy some weird van or SUV or something.
If there was a choice to either modify the car and it's perfomance OR modify the stereo...I would choose perfomance. But, I had/have the choice to do both! I can have a car that meets my needs performance-wise AND I can have an upgraded stereo.
I'm not quite sure why this is so difficult for people to understand. If you were REALLY dedicated to racing Mike, you would remove your stereo, your passenger seat, A/C, etc... But, you have balance...the car meets most of your needs AND you can have a passenger seat, some music and cold air when it's hot out. Get it?
This car is also my daily driver. When I'm old and in my 30's/40's (tongue in cheek), I'll have some fanactical sports car that will just be used for racing/spirited driving.
All things in balance...
The reason I upgraded my stereo is because I appreciate clear non-distorted music the way you enjoy driving.
Well Zach, as I said in the other post, you'd have been much better off with a LARGER car if you wanted sound quality for music. The Coupes are not larger enough, nor have the depth or space to be accoustly ballanced. My old Audi A4 sounded much better - but it was much larger. I bet if you stuffed that stereo into an A4, you'd get much better sound - so your argument is not totally correct. You DID improve on what you have to drive now, but if you really were a music perfectionist, then you'd have bought the car to MATCH your music tastes/interests.
