Rear hatch BMW fix and power steering pump woes! (archive)

So I had to bring in my M Coupe again for the rear hatch... But this time, the service person told me that there is a new metal part that the service dept. is using, in order to combat the weakness of the plastic part. And to make it better, it is a BMW part! when I get my car back, I'll get the complete lowdown and post it.

Oh, and one more thing... how many people's power steering pumps have developed a leak? I was under my car and noticed that the steering rack's boot on the left side was ripped, so I brought my car in for that. But, it turned out that it is the actual pump (!) that is leaking. Anyone else heard of this? Just wondering!
