Exhaust Pipe Woe. (archive)

Last night on my way home from dinner, I must have gotten a plastic bag stuck on my exhaust pipe!!! When I was walking near my car this morning, I noticed cauterized, dried plastic on my exhaust pipe. It was stuck on their rock solid.

Step 1: Try not to get pissed off.

Step 2: I turned on the car to heat up the exhaust pipe.

Step 3: Used Plastic (not metal--don't want scratches on my pipe) egg flipper from the kitchen and started to pick off the big chunks of cauterized plastic.

Step 4: Waited for the pipes to cool.

Step 5: Used mineral spirits to get the remaining plastic off the pipes.

Step 6: Used Chrome Polish to make the pipes look spankin' new.
