I agree with MCS - it could easily be a fabric softener effect.

A few suggestions:

1. Griot's Garage sells wax removal cloths. I use them to remove the bulk of the wax residue to make final buffing easier. The "cloths" are disposable.

2. Griot's Speed Shine helps a lot, though any "quick detailer" spray would likely do. A light spray and final wipe with a cotton cloth will remove / dissipate the light residue remaining.

3. I dry all my car detailing towels with only about 1/8th of a softener towel.
