I had the same problem as Robert did. Robert chose one way, I chose the other. Robert is the cheaper way, but my way is preferable:
What happens when you lower the rear is that the tires will sit more inwards, thus creating more neg camber, therefore the toe will change. Since we have an E30 rear suspension (good old good old), NOTHING is adjustable in rear. So you have 2 solutions:
1. Robert's way: have a shop bend the trailing arms so that you get the camber and toe you want (one way process, cheap, but not tuneable).
2. The other way: get the KMAC eccentric rear bushings. $200 + at least 6 hours of installation. But what you'll get is FULL adjustability of the rear. Camber and toe.
I am not a fan of bending anything, since it reduces the sturdiness of the metal, but if you want a cheap way of doing it, then Robert's way is the way to go. With the KMAC's, I came up with my own specs for the rear, and have a reputable alignment shop play with the bushings until the desired result.
