remember that the first few times you're there to learn, not compete. focus on learning, ask questions, start slow enough not to overwhelm yourself. when walking the course tag along with an experienced autocrosser and ask for advice. do it more than once. don't worry about comparing your times to those of others - only to your own times for the preceding runs (advice i like to give but seldom can stick to myself ;)

most of all - have fun! (oh, and if it's hot - bring bottled water and an umbrella for shade. nothing worse than roasting in a parking lot and dehydrating).
