He said it was his first time, experience is big in drag racing. If he had never done it before he was probably going to have some problems. Most people run really crappy at the track thier first times. I know I did, I almost hit the wall. I ran throught the burnout box and didnt burn off all of the water. I launched (clutch drop) at like 3000 rpms and the car got way sideways and was aimed right at the left wall. I had to physically stop the car, correct the angle and go agian. I ran a 15.4 @99mph. I still beat the car next to me, a nissan sentra. By the end of the day I had run a 14.0 @100MPH with a 60 ft of about 2.0.

Most of the entire race and a godd time is all determined by your launch. This is pretty tricky in a M-coupe or Roadster. If you launch (clutch drop)at too high a rpm you get way too much wheelspin if you go to low you bog out. The only real way to pull good times is to "feather" the clutch. You launch at a pretty high rpm and the ride the clutch for a short while until the tires grip and then let it out the rest of the way when the tires are planted. By using this method you get wheelspina get your revs up and get the grip you need to shoot out of the hole. I still havent perfected this yet but I am going to be putting my stockers on and heading to the track next week to practice. This method is not the best for the clutch and I dont recomend you do it often, but at the track a few runs should not do any damage.

I am pretty sure that I can hit about a 13.9 or 13.8 witha 6oft of 1.9 or less. We will see.
