Interesting but too complicated and dangerous on the track if you follow the advice to slow down w/brakes only and without blipping the throttle to match revs before you downshift going into a turn.
With synchros, no need to double clutch. Clutch in, shift crisply to lower gear while braking with ball of right foot, blip throttle with side of right foot to get at least 900-1000 revs up on the coupe, let out clutch engaging lower gear.
If you try to match revs by braking alone, you will, I guaran-damn-tee it, miss the rev match causing your rear tires to chirp (read lose traction because you are locking up your rear tires with your tranny/engine instead of your brakes)just before you do your turn in (read induced oversteer and all the misfortunes that can come from an unanticipated loose rear end).
By blipping the throttle, you are matching revs with a lot greater range for error.
Plus, even on the road you get that cool sports car throttle blip down shift. Try it, you'll like it.
IMHO.
