There's a new engine oil for your M coupe (archive)

Castrol Formula RS SAE 10W-60 Synthetic Engine Oil and Castrol TWS Motorsport SAE 10W-60 Synthetic Engine Oil replaces the BMW High Performance SAE 5W-30 Synthetic Engine Oil previously used in all S54 engines.

This oil was phased into production in 6/2001 and is now the only approved/specified engine oil for service use in this engine.

Be sure your dealer uses this oil when you go in for your next service.
