First Driving School Suggestions? Help! (archive)

I have read and taken to heart all of the comments about become a better driver before heading down the modification path, but are there some basic things that could / should be done to make my coupe more track ready. E.g. I don't wan't to cut my experience short by not doing some simple mod that will make coupe more track durable.

My preference is to leave it bone stock until I get to know it better under track conditions and I become a driver who can appreciate the mod's, but I don't want to unnecessarily abuse my car.

Any guidance you guys have would be greatly appreciated.
