Why would your dealer drill additional holes when there are already two threaded holes there from the factory?

The dealer shouldn't have needed to use self-tapping screws, machine screws should have done it.

Sounds bizarre.


The same thing happened to me. The top two screws in the front plate are long, self tapping screws that go right into the bumper. When I first discovered it I was in disbelief. I moved from a state requiring front plates to one that does not.

I haven't done anything about it, yet. To be honest, it is not that noticable, but I still want to fix it. Let me know what you decide to do .
